World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades can be used to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and boost additional stats.
Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's stats base increase when it is upgraded. This value is the total of all its leveled up benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader you choose and the kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is because of how many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.
It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is capped at an lower level). Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.
The level of an item can help players compare the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a sign of the item's condition and quality. The level of the item can be used to compare items when examining a vendor's inventory.
On PC, you can check the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are a variety of theories on how the item level is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values and that gems in sockets increase the overall value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is typically very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.
This isn't the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may change its stats. For instance it can add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the best." The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.
Upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For item upgrade , a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.
Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all sizes and shapes. The affixes can provide the item additional damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.
Currently, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circling arrows. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.
Players can upgrade an item by a specific stat or reroll attaches. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat in the range, unless they are an exclusive item or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
Another thing that can be modified by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes, or selecting which stats to enhance. Like the base equipment, it will have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items as well as the properties generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the possibility to obtain better equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more beneficial in the early game than in later ones, because most players value more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.
Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons can be created or spawned using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of an item up to 140.

Moreover, certain items, like the Hollow infused weapon can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items are available in the shops or made using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.
The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..
The success of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. Each item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.
Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects may be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
